My Heritage App — Animating Old Family Photos

My Heritage App takes mobile devices by storm. It’s an application in which you can:

  • Store info about your ancestors and create family trees.
  • Restore old black-and-white photos.

So, if you have a stash of pictures of your great-great-grandparents from the Civil War, Roosevelt’s presidency, or Kennedy’s time — you can reanimate them with fresh colors.

Apart from colorizing, you can even animate their faces. The app has several animation templates that can make a face on the vintage pic smile, node, move eye pupils, blow kisses, and so on — a fantastically eerie effect.

However, be wise about spending your tries. The free version is limited to about 11 photos, and the premium, which removes limits, charges $199 for the first year.

At the moment, My Heritage has a database of about 6 billion entries. People construct their family trees and provide details on their ancestors’ biography. You can even contact other users through the app’s message feature if your investigation requires so.

My Heritage is available online via PC, as well as on Android and iOS devices. It’s based on the neural-network algorithms that “guess” what a restored photo should look like, so don’t expect 100% accuracy.
